The Riffle — Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

The Riffle is a fly-fishing companion for Northeast trout waters. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. The short version: the app works fully without an account, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't run ads or third-party tracking.

Information we handle

Improving recommendations

When a signed-in angler logs an outing, we add an anonymized record of the outcome to a shared pool — the fly used, the river, the month, a coarse flow band, the sky, and how the fishing went. This pool carries no identifying information: no name, email, account id, notes, photos, exact location, or timestamps that could single you out. We use it only to surface "what's producing here lately" and to gently improve the app's fly suggestions for everyone. Logging while signed out never contributes to this pool.
